I am a Year 8 student at Saint Patrick's School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 8 and my teacher is Ms. George.

Who would I trade lives with?
If I’d have to choose who to trade lives with, I’d probably trade lives with a rich person. Knowing that I wouldn’t really know what to do in their lives, I guess it’d be best to find out. I wouldn’t mean to invade their privacy, I just want to know how they really are behind closed doors. Not knowing if they’re good or bad. If they turn out to be something I didn’t expect them to be like, whether it’s good or bad, I wouldn’t dare to say something that would ruin their reputation.

What are 3 things I would teach my future child?
The three things I would teach my future child would be manners, how to do chores and our language. For manners, people would look at my child and think he/she is respectful, kind, and helpful. It gives us a great reputation around his/her school, family members, and friends. Having a positive attitude will eventually lead you to something good in the future. Getting taught how to do chores is pretty simple once you get used to it. This would be another way of being helpful but around the house! It’s a good break from devices too, especially if you’ve been on it all day. Speaking your mother tongue could be difficult at first, but once you get used to it you’ll be able to speak to your family members who don’t speak or understand English. It would be easier for them to be able to create a conversation and communicate.

A Cave or a Treehouse?
I would rather live in a cave than a treehouse. Though, as I was growing up, I did beg my parents to build me a treehouse. But now that I’m older, I think I find it more dangerous, but for safety reasons. For instance, what if you fall walking through those wooden bridges? It only has wood lined with a rope attached to it, and it probably has a weight limit of up to 60kg. But in my opinion, living in a cave would be much safer. The walls are made of solid rocks and would be a perfect hang-out, and there sure would be room for furniture! Making a cave your home would be the best and better option than falling to your death.

A Jetpack or a life-sized robot?
I would rather have a jetpack than a robot. Jetpacks lift your feet off of the ground. You can even steer the jetpack by leaning in whichever direction you would like to go. It is an easier and faster transport that can get you to fly in the air for as long as it lasts. Being able to soar through the clouds and against the wind gives you the feeling of freedom and excitement. But for a robot, it shuts down whenever it wants to. For me, it gives me the creeps, especially at night. Hearing it walk around in the house with its squeaky parts and metal clanking feet would make me feel uncomfortable. It’s like having a mannequin that’s made of metal walking around and serving you with a not-so-normal voice.

Fly or be invisible?
I’d rather fly than be invisible. Flying for me means freedom. Getting to see beautiful views up high in the sky nobody probably has ever seen before would be an outstanding experience! Maybe even try going overseas. But to be invisible is kind of like hiding from people. The common purpose of that power is maybe trying not to be seen by anyone because of embarrassment, or because you're scared. It can also mean you're some kind of spy in that way. Possibly even someone who tries to invade other people’s privacy. But being able to fly is more exciting and interesting than hiding in the dark, being invisible.

Sing or Dance?
I would rather sing than dance. Singing has always been a part of me ever since I was small. It is also in my blood and culture. I grew up in a Church that supports talents, especially when being used to worship God.

Spend holidays at a beach or go overseas?
I’d rather spend my holiday at a beach in New Zealand than go overseas. Though most of my family members are overseas, it’s better to be safe than sorry due to covid. Getting a break from New Zealand would be my family’s dream but because of covid, we can’t go anywhere.
